Cordyceps is a fascinating, little, bright orange mushroom.   
It was originally described by Carl Linnaeus in 1753 as Clavaria Militaris
Eighty years later, in 1833, German mycologist Johann Heinrich Friedrich Link (1767 - 1850) renamed it Cordyceps militaris, which to the present day remains.
